FGCU Women's Tennis Downs Morehead State, 6-1

FORT MYERS, Fla. – The FGCU women's tennis team defeated Morehead State University 6-1 at the FGCU Tennis Courts on Monday afternoon. With the win, the Eagles improve to 5-7 this season, while Morehead State drops to 2-9.

The Blue and Green swept all three doubles matches, losing a combined five games in the process. FGCU made quick work of the MSU Eagles in singles, winning on five of the six courts. Priscillia Villemond (Les Bordes, France), Iris Rendon (San Antonio, Tex.), Melissa Narzissenfeld (Tampa, Fla.), and Morgan Bechtel (Toledo, Ohio) all won in straight sets, dropping a total of 12 games in the four matches. Farah Leclercq (Ocala, Fla.) earned a hard-fought win over Madeleinne Antro, 7-6 (3), 7-5, on court three.

The Eagles will be back in action on Wednesday, March 17, when they host No. 50 Mississippi State. The match is set to begin at 3 p.m. at the FGCU Tennis Complex.
