GAINESVILLE, Fla. –The FGCU women’s tennis team completed Day One at the USTA/ITA Regional in Gainesville, Fla. The Eagles will continue with singles consolation matches tomorrow morning.

Senior Jen Evans (Fort Myers, Fla./Evangelical Christian HS) fell in straight sets to Georgia State’s Maryna Kozachenko, 6-4, 6-4.

Sophomore Gyanna Mandic (Oshowa, Canada/Edison Academies) faced FIU’s Sarah McLean and lost in straight sets, 6-3, 6-1.

Junior Morgan Bechtel (Toledo, Ohio/St. Ursula Academy) lost 6-2, 6-2, to Sara Lazarevic from Stetson.
