FORT MYERS, Fla. – The FGCU women's tennis team recently took time to volunteer at Avalon Elementary last Friday in Naples. This is the third time this year that the women’s tennis team has volunteered in the community.

The Eagles spent time teaching Eagle Math in two different classrooms and the entire team participated.

“Our team did a fantastic job at Avalon and really had a blast,” said head coach Jennifer Gabou. “I am proud of how they want to make an impact on the community.”

The project is part of a once a month commitment to service in the community, a women's tennis tradition that is now four years strong.

In the coming months the women’s tennis team will be volunteering at The Children’s Hospital of SW Florida and will be serving at a local soup kitchen.
