The .500 finish in league play helped the Green and Blue capture the No. 5 seed, placing them in an Atlantic Sun Championship quarterfinal matchup with No. 4 Stetson at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, April 19 in Johnson City, Tenn.

The Eagles were able to pick up a pair of doubles and singles wins on the day, as three different players finished the weekend with either a 2-1 record in singles or doubles.

The FGCU women's tennis team not only turned in its best Division I season in program history in 2011-12, but it also excelled in the classroom, receiving an Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-Academic Team award. Needing a 3.2 cumulative team grade-point average (GPA) to qualify for the ITA's annual academic honor, the Eagles’ eight-player roster last year sported an impressive 3.62 combined GPA.
