Junior- Posted a 11-6 singles record out of the number 2 position during 2008. Maria won her first singles match against Bethune-Cookman to help FGCU to their first ever Division I victory. She was 0-1 in doubles play with Maria Braniecka but improved to 9-9 in doubles play with a mid-season partner switch to Lauren Pfeiffer. She will return as the lady eagle’s top 2008 performer and will solidify the top of the eagle’s rotation for 2009.

Sophomore- Finished the season with a 7-12 record…Played all matches at the #1 or #2 position…Went 6-4 at the #2 spot…Went 9-10 in doubles…Teamed primarily with Krista Polulak and posted five wins at the #2 doubles spot…Also played seven matches with Polulak at the #1 spot.

Freshman- Finished 11-7 in dual-match singles and 13-7 in dual-match doubles...Competed at the No. 2 position for the Eagles...Went undefeated (4-0) in doubles play against Division I opponents...Won first round match in NCAA Regionals.  

Prior to FGCU: Attended Instituto sta. Maria de Lujan…Graduated in 2003…Coached by Daniel Iidalgo.

Accomplishments: Medal of Merit, highest average grade for the school (2001-2003)...Certificate of Honor, Distinguish sportswoman, and tennis (2000-03).

Personal: Daughter of Silvia Maggiorini and Pablo Testa…Hometown Buenos Aires, Argentina…Majoring in Resort Hospitality Management with a minor in Marketing and Advertising…Favorite athlete Gabriela Sabatini…Biggest accomplishment in life so far is leaving Argentina and coming to the U.S. to accomplish one of her biggest dreams…Thankful for her family…Chose FGCU because it is a great school and allows her the opportunity of growing up intellectually while playing the sport she loves.
