As a Freshman (2011-12)
Competed in all 21 matches in the spring season … compiled a record of 5-16 with a 4-5 A-Sun mark in dual matches … picked up her first collegiate win against Villanova’s Sydney West in three sets, 6-3, 5-7, 1-0 (10-6) … defeated four A-Sun opponents in Melanie Schumilas (Mercer), Gabriela Bartos (Jacksonville), Samantha Bowman (Lipscomb) and Natalia Nunes (Belmont) … had a 2-2 record at No. 6 singles … In doubles playpaired with Morgan Bechtel and had a 7-13 dual match record with a 4-5 A-Sun mark … earned three non-conference victories at No. 1 doubles and defeated Isabel von Stryk and Talia Rojas from USC Upstate … won two doubles matches in a row after taking down Jacksonville’s Gabriela Bartos and Veronique Spencer, while defeating Shannon Gunning and Lindsey Cable (Stetson).

High School
Played tennis at West Broward high school … earned honorable mention for Broward county in 2010 and 2011 … was awarded the Governor’s Point of Light award in 2010 for her work with the “Make a Wish” foundation … also earned the gold and silver cord awards for academics and community service.

Born on November 11, 1992 … business management major with a minor in political science … daughter of Jose and Elci Diez … has one brother, Max (12) … her favorite athletes include Kelly Slater and Andre Agassi … wants to meet Rafael Nadal … chose FGCU because of the campus environment and to play college tennis.
